7 Inspirational Quotes That Changed My Perspective

I am that girl that scrolls through Tik Tok and X (formerly known as Twitter) tearing up, looking at deep inspirational quotes. I realized I am a girl that feels her emotions deeply. It is a beautiful part of myself. I absolutely love horoscopes, sentimental tweets, mental health quotes and inspirational poems. I save all the quotes I see to look back on and want to share my top seven. I hope you enjoy them just as much as I do.

  1. I’ve decided I’m beautiful and life’s way too short to spend time hating my reflection.

This quote holds so much power to the fact that we are wasting our time thinking and feeling negative about ourselves. I have struggled with my self-esteem just like every other human on this planet. But over time, I learned that I must love myself enough to only talk highly of myself. I no longer want to waste my energy speaking negatively about myself. It’s so draining. Spending our time in front of the mirror hating ourselves serves us no purpose. It does damage. It is a huge struggle and I acknowledge that. I just sent this quote to a friend who is struggling right now. She really appreciated it just as I did.

  1. Your future self is watching you through memories.

I was scrolling on X when I found this quote and was speechless. I have never thought about life this way. Think about it… every current moment immediately becomes a memory that we will look back on. It all comes back to being present in the current moment. It’s all we have. We don’t know what the future holds. We can’t change the past. Reading this quote made me sad for some reason. I love reminiscing on past happy memories. To create those, we have to be present right now.

  1. Everyone is going to hurt you somehow, sometime. You just have to decide who’s worth the heartache.

This is ironic that I am writing about this quote because I talked about something similar in therapy today. We are all human. The question is, can anyone be fully trusted? Can you ever fully trust yourself? As you are also just a human. All of us are far from perfect. Everyone is capable of hurting you. Family, friends and partners.  We can even hurt ourselves. This is why a lot of us have trust issues. But after reading this quote, I instantly understood. Everyone is worth loving. But with loving someone you risk heartbreak. That is with anyone. So, who is worth the heartache? That is for you to choose.

  1. They were put in your life to teach you what self-love is.

Have you ever had a connection with someone and thought to yourself, “I wish I never met them”? I think many of us can relate to that. Some people come into our lives and hurt us in ways we didn’t know were possible. But one thing I believe is that everyone is put in our lives for a reason. Everything happens for a reason. If you don’t know the reason yet, it’s because you are in the happening. I’ve had people come into my life and the main lesson I learned was self-love. Self-love can look like learning to set boundaries or not allowing someone to continue to hurt you. Unfortunately, most of us have to learn this lesson at some point.

  1. If you focus on the hurt, you’ll keep suffering. If you focus on the lesson, you’ll keep growing.

Hyper-focusing and dwelling on the pain will only lead you to misery. Nonacceptance will continue to keep you in a state of pain. I have been there. I had to change my mindset to find the lesson during hard situations. This is difficult. But this leads us to healing and helps our growth. While we heal and accept this hurt, it will become less painful. Healing isn’t linear. Healing isn’t pretty. But the end results are what’s worth it.

  1. If you have to continue to tell someone how you feel and nothing changes, they don’t respect you.

This one I learned the hard way. Actions speak louder than words. Someone can manipulate you with their words but show that their actions don’t align. If time after time you tell someone how you feel and they continue to ignore it, they don’t care. If you set a boundary and they actively ignore it, they don’t respect you. This is when you see someone’s true colors. No one deserves to have someone in their life who continues to show that they don’t respect you. Respect should be the number one thing in any relationship. Respect builds trust and safety. My advice is never keep someone in your life who does this to you. Someone else out there will respect you, I promise. We all deserve this.

  1. You are surrounded by human beings who know they want you in their life. Don’t take them for granted.

With any relationship in our life, we choose every day to stay connected to that person. It is a choice to keep someone in your life. It takes mutual effort to maintain any relationship. Your friends choose you. Your partner chooses you. Your family chooses to keep a relationship with you. We need to be grateful for this. People in our lives feel better because we exist. That is special. We can never take for granted the amazing people that surround us. Especially friendships. There is so much love in friendships. People forget that. My best friend’s continue to fix a heart they didn’t break. I am forever grateful for that.

I hope you liked the quotes I chose to share. Maybe I am just a sensitive girl who loves deep quotes, but I can talk about this forever! X/Twitter is definitely my best friend lol. My advice is to keep your favorite quotes in the notes app on your phone to look back on. I have many of these in my notes app. Thank you for reading my blog!
